However, I DO say hello and always tell people to have a good day whenever I'm walking on the street or buying something. But I'd say that I gt about a 40% return rate here. For instance, I held the door for some snotty bitch the other day and she didn't even say thank you and walked right on through. I said "you're welcome." People in Maine were so nice and I chatted it up with everyone there...which says a lot since I'm not the most socially outgoing person. Here, no one wants to talk. So my conclusion is that your neighbor is from a foreign land other than east coast asshole territory.
