American Auto Transport Scam
Maybe the word scam isn’t correct. But this company has a serious issue with what it is doing.
I received a phone call Saturday from 954-915-3610. When I answered I heard a pre-recorded message asking me to hit a number to accept the call, or select a different number to leave a call back number.
I hung up the phone. But apparently I have Google Voice activated and receive a text message that I have a voice mail. Google Voice also send me a text of the message. This is the same voice mail I receive every time this company calls me.
Hi, I’m calling from the Auto Transport Company, we’re calling to see if you still need to have your vehicle moved. We have a driver in your area. My number is (954) 745-8950 again. That’s (954) 745-8950 we’re calling to see if you still need to have your vehicle moved. We havea driver in your area again. The number is (954) 745-8950. Thank you.
I called the number in the voice mail and asked why they were calling me. The man asked if I had a car that needed moved. I told him no. I then asked to be removed from the call list. He said sure and hung up. Today I received about 6 more phone calls from this number. Exact same scenarios. I called back again and asked to speak with a manager. The man said his boss just got in and wasn’t available yet. I told the man I didn’t care and wanted to speak to him. The man put me through to a line that was disconnected.
I’m not sure I have an answer for this issue yet. However I did file a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office using their DNC complaint form.
